POSTPONED Lullingstone Quilt & Craft Festival 2020

Lullingstone Castle gatehouse

This event takes place on 25th September 2020 at 10:00am and will take place at Next Year. It is being organised by Jan Allston.

Lullingstone Quilt & Craft Festival 2020

It is with great sadness that I have to tell you that the show cannot go ahead this September.  The castle is not going to be able to allow any events to take place during this month.  Our region 2 committee had planned to meet virtually on 13th August to decide whether or not to proceed with the show in light of the current situation in the UK concerning the pandemic.  This decision was taken out of our hands by the venue.

This means that all quilt and challenge entries have either been cancelled or carried over to next year.  If you have entered a quilt or a challenge and have not heard from me, please get in touch as a matter of urgency.  If you bought raffle tickets, or sold any to non members, then please note that the raffle cannot take place now as we do not have the prizes and very few tickets have actually been sold anyway –but the good news is that your ticket/s will be valid for the raffle which will now be drawn on 18th July 2021.  I will have the stubs taken to the castle for the show next year.

Regarding the challenge theme, it will be the same next year – Two Fabrics.  The tombola will have the same theme – Bugs, bees and butterflies.  You have lots of time now to make some wonderful items for us to entice visitors to have a lucky dip.  Please send any items you have made to Beryl Connelly.  Address will be provided on request to me.  Alternatively, let me know what you have made and bring it to the castle next year.

I have been in touch with all of our lovely traders who are as devastated as me but most of them have asked me to keep their stand fees till next year when they plan to return to see us all at the castle.  We also plan to have the workshops as for this year.

In essence, all that is happening is that – like Sleeping Beauty – we will wake up next year and carry on as if nothing had happened!  Would that not be lovely?

Stay safe everyone and I look forward to seeing you at the amazing Lullingstone Castle and World Garden between the 16th and the 18th July 2021.  Please note the dates in your diaries.  Forms for entries will be available in Two's Company.
