My main interest is long arm quilting and in particular free hand customised quilting. I have a Handiquilter Amara and recently added a pro stitcher. I love ruler work and have designed my own line of longer rulers.I love making whole cloths using both traditional textiles but also leather. I am a qualified teacher of sewing with leather and teach classes in making journal covers, and tote bags. I am hoping to also do classes for longarm quilters on the use of leather.
I love piecing on foundation papers but also hand piecing.
I have entered my first competition quilt into Malvern in 2014, "Kutch Diamonds", for which I have been awarded Best in show. In 2015 I came second in bed quilts at Malvern with "Whistler: Fire and Ice" and first in theme quilts with "When rainbows dance" and first in theme category for "Gabi's quilt at Sandown.
I entered "The trouble with magenta, hot or not" into the World quilt show in 2015 and was awarded Best from UK. When I entered "Kutch Diamonds" into world show in 2016, I was awarded 2nd place in traditional category. "The trouble with magenta, hot or not" was awarded best in traditional category at FoQ in 2017 and I came 1st in traditional category with "Nostalgia" at the World quilt show in 2017. Nostalgia has subsequently (2019) been awarded Best in wholecloth category at UQSM and came third in wholecloth category at MQX.
One of my first leather quilts 'You've got to be kidding me' was awarded Best in 'New traditions in textiles' at MQX in 2019 and I have won best in 'its better in leather' category at MQX in 2019 with my quilt 'Oh Coquette, ruffling some feathers?'.
