As you all know, we have now said goodbye to Hever Castle and 27 years of lovely quilt shows there. The good news is that we have relocated to Lullingstone Castle near Maidstone and we will have our Quilt and Craft Festival there this year from 19th to 21st July.
We have managed to acquire a concession on the entry price for Guild members(which is much less than Hever anyway) and it includes a visit to the castle, the grounds and The World Garden designed by Tom Hart-Dyke whilst he was in captivity in Panama and fearing for his life. The garden is now well established and one of the nationally celebrated attractions at the castle which has been his family home since 1497. For just £5 (you must show your membership card), you could have a wonderful day out. Non members will have to pay £10 per adult but children are free as are carers for registered disabled people. It’s still cheaper than Hever and there is more to see. Organise a coach trip for your local quilt group!
Please support us again this year by entering your quilts (inside, outside and Young quilters) and stepping up to the challenge, the title of which celebrates our move to another famous and beautiful building set in amazing scenery. If all goes to plan, you should find quilts in the house, in the church which is also set in the grounds and perhaps in the marquees as well where our traders both quilt and local crafts will be waiting to spoil you with all sorts of exciting wares.
